Crime-fighting beauty queen heads to NYC

The beauty queen whose cooperation in a Suffolk police online pedophile sting that landed some police brass in trouble will continue her public crusade for Internet safety with a town hall-style program in New York City on Thursday.

Lauren Nelson, winner of the 2007 Miss New York and Miss America pageants, will host the session at the Museum of the City of New York from 1 p.m.-3 p.m. Thursday.

Online predators, social networking Web sites and cyberbullying will be among the topics discussed at the session, which will allow young campers to interact with the beauty queen.
