US Dream Academy

Mentor Clubs
US Dream Academy

This year, 5 of the 2006 Miss America’s Outstanding Teen contestants accepted the challenge to set up a Mentor Club in her home town. We are very proud of their individual commitment to enlist their peers and teachers in developing their Mentor Club.

After reading the essays, looking at photos and reviewing the peer evaluations, we are honored to announce the winners of the 2007 Mentor Club Scholarships. These teens have shown by their actions a commitment to service by giving one hour per week during the school year to help children who are struggling in the classroom. The testimonies of parents and teachers are compelling evidence that even a small amount of time can make a tremendous difference in the life of a child.

• The winner of the first place $3000 scholarship is Allie Rick, Miss Wisconsin’s Outstanding Teen, 2006.

• The second place $2000 scholarship is awarded to Miss New Hampshire’s Outstanding Teen, 2006 Janine Mitchell.

• The third place $1000 scholarship is awarded to Stephanie Range, Miss Washington’s Outstanding Teen, 2006.

These three 2006 contestants will also receive a trip back to Orlando to be honored in the Saturday night finals. They will also receive room accommodations for 3 nights. They will be asked to share their accomplishments with the 2007/08 contestants and will be invited to participate in various other activities.

In addition…we are awarding 2 Honorable Mention scholarships of $500 each to Kasey Wilder, Miss Mississippi’s Outstanding Teen, 2006 and Natalie Davis, Miss Minnesota’s Outstanding Teen, 2006.

CONGRATULATIONS TO THESE OUTSTANDING TEENS!
