Jo-Anna participated in the 9th Annual Myscular Dystrophy Association MotorCycle Fun Run. Unlike most years, this year was a very challenging run for the bikers due to the bad weather conditions. When the bikers left West Fargo, North Dakota, it was raining hard and steady and the temperatures had fallen to a chilly 50 degrees.
Bundled up in their rain gear and helmets, the bikers departure was taped by KVLY TV and featured throughout the day and into the evening news broadcasts. At times, the wind was blowing so hard that the rain fell at an angle and bounced off of the pavement, making it very difficult for the bikers to see and navigate the roads. These people were determined to raise $$ for MDA, however, and made every planned destination mark in time and in good spirits!
Jo-Anna was the only title holder brave enough to ride and was honored by being the passenger on the lead bike, owned and operated by Brad Hansen, and which proudly flew the American Flag throughout the 130 mile run.
Many thanks to Brad Hansen for taking such good care of Jo-Anna throughout the day long ride from West Fargo, ND to Arthur, ND and into Mayville/Portland, ND. The bikers then continued on to Hendrum, MN and then back to downtown Fargo, ND, where the Old Broadway served a piping hot dinner to the bikers and riders alike.
Alot of fun was had by all - in spite of the weather conditions - and alot of money was raised for a very deserving cause! God bless all who participated for their spirit of adventure and committment to such a worthwhile cause.
