Sydney student crowned Australia's Miss World

She scored a swag of gifts, and, of course, a tiara, but Sydney's new Miss Australia says her greatest prize is the chance to use her powers for good.

Caroline Pemberton, 20, a psychology student at the University of NSW, was crowned Miss Australia at Star City in Sydney last night ahead of 19 other finalists in her third tilt at the title.

The resident of St Ives on Sydney's North Shore will go on to represent Australia at this year's Miss World pageant, which will be held at Sanya in China in September.
