Two Tennessee natives competing in Miss America

West Tennessee will have not one, but two, rooting interests when the 2007 Miss America Pageant kicks off its preliminary rounds tonight at the Alladin Resort & Casino in Las Vegas.

There's Blaire Pancake of Chattanooga, the reigning Miss Tennessee who won her title in Jackson last June. But also in the field of 52 contestants is Milan native Rachelle Phillips, Miss Kentucky.

Kellye Cash Sheppard of Milan, who became the only Miss Tennessee to win the big title 20 years ago, will host the preliminary rounds. And Leah Beth Bolton of Jackson, who finished third in last fall's Miss America's Outstanding Teen competition, has been invited to perform Saturday night.
