Donald Trump and Rosie O'Donnell have gotten personal, lobbing a barrage of increasingly nasty insults at each other stemming from a dispute over the Miss USA scandal.

Trump recently gave a second chance to Miss USA Tara Conner, allowing her to keep her crown following a wave of reports that she had taken part in underage drinking.

He made the announcement at a news conference with Conner, where she tearfully admitted drinking as a minor at New York nightclubs. She turned 21 a day before the news conference.

Speaking Wednesday on "The View," which airs on CTV and which O'Donnell co-hosts, she said the event was a publicity stunt that annoyed her "on a multitude of levels."

She said Trump is in no position to be acting as a moral compass for America's youth.

"There he is, hair looping, going everyone, everyone deserves a second chance," she said. "He's the moral authority? Left the first wife, had an affair, left the second wife, had an affair. Had kids both times, but he's the moral compass for 20-year-olds in America," she said to roars of audience laughter. "Donald, sit and spin, my friend."

Rosie also said she expected Trump to sue her but added "he'll probably be bankrupt by that time so I won't have to worry."

Trump, not known for keeping his opinions to himself either, issued an equally stinging response on the television entertainment show "The Insider."

He slammed everything from her looks to her former talk show and magazine, and countered her claims that he has gone bankrupt.

"Rosie attacks me personally? I know her fairly well because her show failed. She didn't retire. She didn't get the ratings! Her magazine called `Rosie' was a total disaster," he said.

"She's out of her mind. I will probably sue Rosie for a number of reasons. I'm worth a lot of money. She doesn't tell the facts," he added.

Trump, a real-estate mogul, star of "The Apprentice" reality show and co-owner of the Miss Universe Organization went so far as to attack O'Donnell's appearance, saying "she looks like a slob" and describing her as "basically a disaster."

He denied Rosie's claim that he has experienced financial woes.

"I never went bankrupt, but she said I went bankrupt. So probably I'll sue her because it would be fun. I'd like to take some money out of her fat-ass pockets," he told "The Insider."

He also threatened to send one of his friends to pick up Rosie's wife Kelli.
