Melbourne City Council will not fine Myer over a giant advertisement featuring former Miss Universe Jennifer Hawkins after the department store agreed to take down the billboard. The council told Myer management this afternoon that it would not apply the $1100 fine over the illegal sign, which the store had agreed to remove by last night.
A delay in closing Little Bourke Street to traffic meant the poster of Ms Hawkins could not be taken down today.
Instead, a cherrypicker will be brought in tomorrow morning to remove the advertisement.
