By CARLA WATERS\Managing Editor

Watseka native Lisa Lustfeldt was crowned Miss Central Illinois Saturday night in Bloomington.

Lisa, a senior nursing major at Illinois State University, competed in the pageant, which is part of the Miss America Pageant Circuit.

"This is a preliminary to Miss Illinois," said mom Deanna.

The girls competing for the honor went through an interview process, which counted 25 percent. There was also a swimsuit competition for 15 percent, onstage question for five percent, evening gown competition for 20 percent and talent for 35 percent. For her talent, Lustfeldt played the piano.

She also had to have a platform, for which she chose preventing child abuse.
