Clinton native to give invocation at NASCAR event

Jenna Edwards, Miss Florida USA 2007 and a Clinton native, will give the invocation for the NASCAR Nextel Cup Ford 400.

WLBT Channel 3, an NBC affiliate, will air the event at 2 p.m. Sunday.

While in Clinton, Edwards attended Central Hinds Academy and Morrison Heights Baptist Church. She founded Queen for a Day, a nonprofit for pediatric cancer patients.

In 2004, she competed in Miss America pageant as Miss Florida. She won a preliminary swimsuit competition and recognition for her nonprofit group.

Edwards, who now lives in Miami, will represent Florida again in April’s Miss USA pageant.
