Smaby wins second pageant crown

There will be at least one big difference for former Miss Holmen Kristina Smaby as she takes on the role of Miss La Crosse/Oktoberfest: She gets to wear a dirndl, a traditional German folk dress that all female members of the Oktoberfest family wear.

A crowd of almost 600 Saturday night watched Smaby win the 2006 Miss La Crosse/Oktoberfest at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse’s Cartwright Center.
