Former residents win two pageant crowns

Uschkrat Miss Indiana University, Betsy Uschkrat of Sugar Land, Texas, was crowned Miss Indiana 2006 Saturday night in Zionsville, Ind., at the Zionsville High School Performing Arts Center. In the two-day preliminary judging, Uschkrat won the talent competition Wednesday night. She is the daughter of Jim and Karen Uschkrat of Sugar Land and a graduate Clements High School and the University of Houston. In another contest Magen Ellis, the 2005 Miss Fort Bend County, won the Miss Texas-USA pageant in Laredo Sunday night as Miss Houston and will represent the Lone Star State at the Miss USA-2007 pageant in April. Crystle Stewart of Sugar Land, who was Miss Southeast Texas, was first runner-up for the second year. SOURCE
