New Interview

Fox Box - November 20, 2009

clipped from mrscolorado.blogspot.com On November 20th, I had the opportunity to appear for my second time on Fox 31/KDVR during “Good Day Colorado” on a segment called “Fox Box.” The host of the show, Shaul Turner, myself, and two other guests talked about topics currently making the news right now. We discussed the new book released by Sarah Palin, the controversial issue of women waiting until the age of 50 for mammograms, the violent acts displayed by a female soccer player from New Mexico, and reasons for addiction in light of Great American Smoke Out. I have really enjoyed being a part of the show, and hope to make a return appearance soon! On the set with the very talented and beautiful host of Fox Box, Shaul Turner.

clipped from luparker.com I was one of the judges for the Miss CA USA pageant over the weekend along with actor A.J. Buckley, and dress designer Tony Bowls. It was an exciting time as usual. Over 130 women competed, but only one could win. She represented Sherwood. Her name is Nicole Johnson. She will now represent Miss CA in the Miss USA pageant which will be held in Las Vegas in April. Black Tie Ball Benefiting Big Brothers and Big Sisters

clipped from jademonfils.blogspot.com I was thrilled to help out for the 2nd year in a row at the Big Brothers and Big Sisters black tie auction and dinner. Having worked with this organization for 2 years as a youth mentor, I know the importance of this program and how the funds raised at this auction will go to benefit the children. In this program, high risk children are placed with either a male (big brother) or a female (big sister). These adults help mentor the child through bi-monthly meetings. We just hang out with each other and get to know more about what is going on in their lives, we also with help out with tough decisions.

Thankful for Their Service

clipped from hip2give.blogspot.com I have enjoyed another opportunity to participate in a dinner service with the Armed Forces Foundation, this time at the Bethesda Naval Hospital. This was my first experience at this facility. What a wonderful display of appreciation, gratitude and humility. The event's dinner was sponsored by Vanguard Management and The Bernstein Companies, as usual the AFF did a wonderful job and the wounded warriors along with their families were treated to a thanksgiving feast like no other. Turkey with all of the trimmings (all home made!) and desserts that made everyone's mouth water! I learned the story of Garth (left), wounded and at the hospital for 3 months now - and the stories of many others. There was even a Marine present who just graduated at Parris Island the day before - young and willing to stand for our freedom.

John Stamos

Boise Holiday Parade

clipped from idahopageants.blogspot.com Mrs. Miss, Teen and Little Miss Idaho International all participated in the Boise Holiday Parade to help kick off the Christmas season. Also joining the Idaho International Queens were some of the 2010 contestants including: Mrs. Western Idaho Lorene Rasmussen, Mrs. Southwest Idaho Holly Drinkard, Teen Ada County Amanda Wester, Teen Caldwell Alyssa Watson, and Teen Canyon County Amanda Wilder. Idaho International Queen were able to walk around before the parade and have their photos taken with other royalty that was in the parade also.

A Courageous Beauty: Mrs. International 2006 Suzy Bootz

It was so nice to meet her in person after our many phone conversations :-) How did you learn about various pageants? Angie: What titles have you held? Suzy: Mrs. International 2006, Mrs. Texas International 2006, Ms. U.S. Continental 2000-01, Mrs. Texas United States 2002, Top 10 Finalist and Swimsuit winner at the 2004 Mrs. United States Pageant. Angie: Do you have other creative talents you pursue? Suzy: I am a jewelry designer and have my own line which you can visit at www.SuzyBootz.com I also love to write, and have written many poems and now am in the process of writing a book. I think I got that talent from my mother who published a spanish book with a major publishing company years before she passed away.

The Night of Lights Holiday Parade

clipped from mrsillinoisamerica2009.blogspot.com Danville: My home town growing up is Danville, Illinois, and I had the privilege of being a part of the Night of Lights Parade in Danville this Thursday evening. The rain held up for a really nice event! It was good to come home and be a part of the a week long holiday opening! http://www.downtowndanville.us/calendar.htm As it turns out I also got to see all the fanfare for the Danville Vikings, my High School football team, as they are 12 and 0, and were playing in the semi-finals Saturday! Go Vikings!!! The photo in front of the Veteran's War Memorial is especially important to me because my grandfathers were Army vets, my Father-in-law is a Marine, and I was there for the actual dedication of this memorial when I was Miss Vermilion County AFL-CIO (Miss America Organization). Getting to be back there again was incredibly sweet! PS - that dog had a lighted up outfit, and apparently is a part of the parade every year as a "reindeer"...too cute!
